"Life is Like a Board Game" Any person who has ever held a job will surely tell you there were times when someone was not nice to him or her; maybe that someone even acted like a jerk. If you are blessed to have a great life with no problems, God bless you. However, if you have allowed yourself to treat people in the way mentioned in the song, you might consider changing your ways. My thanks to Jerry Gibson for your help in the project. JW
"55 Years and She Still Believes in Me" Jerry and his wife Arlene have been married 55 years and have been blessed with two children and awesome grandchildren. Jerry - "I think the key to life is to tell your children and family that you love them every day. Life is too short and you never know what tomorrow will bring." Jerry wrote this song in 1977 but this is the first time he has recorded and published it for widespread distribution.
"No Hail Storms or High Water" brings to mind the challenges faced by hard working dads and moms when faced with the conflict of needing to make a living and wanting to be home with the ones they love. Life sometimes seems overwhelming, but through goal setting, determination, and hard work, it's possible to break through the storm into the sunshine - the promise of a brigher future.
"No More Teardrops" This song tells the story of a family man who feels insecure about his relationship with his wife. He knows he's not quite measuring up when it comes to living the right kind of life. A misunderstanding causes him to think about how devastating it would be to lose his wife and family.
"Country Boy Hall of Shame" Sadly, drugs, alcohol, and an attitude of entitlement and self-indulgence are ruining lives and undermining the traditional values Americans hold so dear. In this song, a careless, self-absorbed young man has to learn the hard way that by changing his attitude, he can change his life. The message is one of hope.
"Long road to Freedom" expresses the gratitude our nation owes to those men and women in each generation who have helped pave that Long Road to Freedom through military service. Most of the pictures are of Jerry's extended family, starting with his grandfather who was in WWI, with a few of him and his buddies from Viet Nam 1968-69. The introduction is the voice of President Ronald Reagan.
